Software Engineer / Game Programmer

As a Software Engineer, I combine a strong computer science foundation with a passion for building innovative solutions, particularly within game development. I possess a deep understanding of software design principles and hands-on development. My unique approach to problem-solving is evident in my experience creating several 2D games, including a "Super Mario" clone and a Solitaire game, all powered by custom-built engines using C++, SDL2, and SFML. This demonstrates not only my proficiency in C++ but also my keen eye for system architecture.

Beyond game engines, I have practical experience with industry-standard tools like Unity, where I developed a first-person shooter project, leveraging team collaboration and Git version control. My understanding of GUI development is evident through projects like a calculator and Conway's Game of Life using wxWidgets.

I love learning programming and I'm actively expanding my skillset by diving into Godot Engine, creating both 2D and 3D games to master its capabilities before embarking on new personal projects. I thrive in dynamic environments and am eager to leverage my diverse technical background to contribute to innovative software development teams.

Education

2012 - 2014

Associate of Science in Game Development
Full Sail University

I learned to manage game development projects, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation. Developed strong teamwork and collaboration, simulating the real-world environment of game development studios.

2012 - 2014

Master of Business Administration
University of Phoenix

2009 - 2011

Bachelor of Art in Philosophy
University of California Irvine

I learned about corporate finance, strategic management, change management, marketing strategy, leadership, team building, data analysis and communication.

I learned philosophy, and it trained me to break down complex problems into smaller pieces. This has sharpened my ability to debug issues easily, explain complex problems in everyday language, and write clear documentation.

Feb 2021 - June 2009

Associate of Science in Computer Science & Philosophy
Cerritos College, CA

I learned the fundamental of programming using C++, Java, C#, XML, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. I also learn computer architecture of Unix Solaris OS.
